The Burgh Barber Gives Back!

Like most things I find these days , the power of the Internet brought me to meet my current hair guru. Technically,  it was Instagram (TheBurghBarber) that brought me to him as I am newer to Pittsburgh and needed someone steady to keep me 'fresh' as the kids would say. My hair grows fast and I like to get it cut every two weeks. It is a blessing in many ways that my hair grows as fast as it does ......except to my checking account. So let me introduce you to the man behind the Big "B" badge. I honestly did not know his name initially as I just thought of him as the "Burgh Barber". But like some formalities , they wear off and the "Burgh Barber" became Wendell. And Wendell became a friend. And not just because he's a super-nice guy , but because he reaches out to his clients like they are family members (He sends out regular email's to his clients about bridge closings / stuff about his family / and updates about outings / etc ) . Keep in mind he does not have any more openings for new clients. So if you are reading this and  thinking to yourself "Hey , I need a new stylist!" .....keep looking. This guy is booked. And I don't mean next week booked. I mean months in advanced booked. One of his last emails stated that he was no longer accepting new clients and asked not bring any friends to appointments as "add-ins".

Just a small percentage of his customers (some had left already or were not able to attend)

Every so many months he gives back to his clients and has mixers (Indoor rock-climbing anyone?) of sorts for his clients AND their families. I have not been able to attend a couple of them, but I did take my girl friend and kids to the BBQ event which was a great time. And not just something he whipped up himself , but rather a catered event (badazzbbq) with the whole spread. While the kids played in the Bounce House (I heard the adults got in later on!) the adults played "knockout" (winner got a free haircut!) and everyone fraternized under the tent. These little things (not really little) go a long way to keep me coming back. Not only are the cuts' the best , but the comradery too. See you in a couple weeks Sir!
